Sleepy Girl

My sweet Kennedy ran inside quickly to go potty tonight. I walked in the door to hear yelling and crying from the bathroom. She was upset because she was done and I was still taking care of the chickens. I quickly ran to her rescue, sent her to get jammies, and told her it was ok. It was now only 6:15 and the other kids were in watching TV. A few minutes later I hear whispering voices, saying, "Look, she is asleep" and "Kennedy's asleep" followed by soft giggling. I came in the living room to see this.

My sweet girl was a little sleepy.

The Greatest Man in History

He had no servants, yet they called Him Master.

He had no degree, yet they called Him Teacher.

He had no medicines, yet they called Him Healer.

He had no army, yet Kings feared Him.

He won no military battles, yet He conquered the World.

He committed no sin, yet they crucified Him.

He was buried in a tomb, yet

HE LIVES TODAY!

I love Easter! I have a testimony of Christ's resurrection. I am grateful for the comfort it gives me to know that because He lives, we can live again and be with our families forever.

Happy Birthday, My Angel

Dear Lincoln,

Today is your birthday and you would be eight years old. The moment I heard your heartbeat, I felt so close to you and had a bond I cannot even describe to the tiny baby I was caring for. You were entrusted to me from our Heavenly Father and I felt so blessed to be able to bring a new life into this world. My heart will be forever changed because you are mine.

I am so lucky now to have Dallin, Halley, Regan, and Kennedy. Little things they do remind me of you at times and the sweet, happy personality you showed us. You were such a sweet big brother to Dallin and loved to give him kisses on his forehead. Each time you did, you would bounce up and smile huge with your nose all wrinkled up! I also know you prepared each of your sisters in Heaven before they joined our family on Earth. I am so grateful for that knowledge. I am sure you were sad to say goodbye to each of them, but I think you stayed close each time we had a new one in our home.

I can't imagine how you would look as an eight year old. You would be old enough to be baptized this year, and I can't believe it! I can only think of a favorite memory I have of you when you would chase me with your arms stretched behind you. I think you thought you could run faster like this. I know you are so blessed to be safe with the Savior, but I want so badly to have you here with me at the same time. I miss you more than I can even describe.

Dad and I will be taking your brother and sisters to get balloons for you later and I hope you will smile down on us as we celebrate your birthday. I will make a cake for them to blow candles out for you. They love this, and I think it makes them feel closer to you in a small, simple way. I am thankful for that. I hope we feel close to you this special day. I will be looking forward to the future day when Dad and I will be able to raise you during the millennium and I hope to live worthy of this great privilege.

Love always and forever,

Mom

Wednesday, February 8, 2012

I haven't posted for a long time, so I am starting fresh and may go back to add more posts later. The kids have been doing really well. I have been babysitting two energetic little girls twice a week and my girls love having them! Kennedy asks if they are coming every day. She follows the youngest around and almost mauls her. Most recently, Kennedy has been saying she wants to get back in my tummy. I think she really wants to be a big sister, but Mom and Dad are not quite ready for that yet. We are enjoying this great phase in our lives, but I still don't feel done. I know some people may think I am crazy for saying that, but oh well.

Dallin is a great reader, but it is like pulling teeth to get him to do homework! He loves Bey Blades, Super Mario Bros. and Grandpa's iPad.

Dallin and Regan love to drive one another crazy! Regan does things just to get a rise out of her big brother, and then he gets back at her in other ways! Regan can be so spunky and full of attitude, but also incredibly sweet! You never know what you are going to get with her, but it is exciting to watch her!

Halley loves to set-up 'Centers' and school all the time. To our surprise, she says she wants to be a cop when she grows up! She is doing very well in school and I am so proud of her. I also countdown the seconds for when she comes home each day, because of her power of distraction with the other girls.

Kennedy's Birthday Party

On Kennedy's birthday, we had her present waiting for her to see when she woke up. I planned to let the kids play in the pool we bought for her all day and that is just what they did! She was so excited and wanted me to get it out of the box right when she saw it! We had a day with all the things you enjoy in the summer- watermelon, Otter Pops, cupcakes, swimming, and the sun! My kids enjoyed the sun a little too much for their fair skin, I promise I applied sunscreen more than once! Ouch!

Kennedy was laughing so hard, because Dallin kept spraying the other girls!
He is a tease to his sisters, but most of the time they deserve it!

My Baby is 2

Two years ago, I awoke to the worst labor pains ever at around 4:00 am. The night before, I was having a lot of contractions, just very irregular. I must have progressed a lot that night, because when I woke up I thought I was having the hardest labor so far. I told Trev, this time I may have to get an epidural, because they were hurting so bad. I had no idea at the time, that I was in transition and that is why they were so strong. It took me 3 contractions to get out to the car (I had to keep stopping to rock or just breathe) and the whole drive to the hospital was horrible.

We arrived at the hospital about 6:00 and the nurses were taking their time, so I tried to keep moving around. I should have told them how fast I progress when I am in full labor. We finally went into the room to get my gown on and check all my vitals, but I was really hurting. The contractions were coming hard and fast! I finally undressed and got the gown on, when I suddenly felt so much pressure and told Trev and the nurse she was coming. Trevor looked under the gown and saw Kennedy's head! The nurse told him to just pull out the emergency button, because they would respond faster that way. I was in complete shock, but the nurse was very calm and just said to carefully sit down, and I just pushed her the rest of the way out! Trevor ended up being the doctor and we thought about sending the hospital a bill for his services! I was so lucky we did not have her in the car on the way over! I found out later that that was the fastest time the nurses at the front had ever seen- from check-in to when I delivered her was only 24 minutes. As I think back, the memory is so surreal and I still cannot believe this is the way my baby came into the world!

Kennedy is such a sweetheart! She is a mama's girl and I am proud to say I am her favorite! She loves her big brothers and sisters and has so much fun with Regan especially! She has been climbing on everything since she was tiny and is quite a dare-devil! I am so grateful to have her in my life and a part of our family!
